  • Elliptic Curve Cryptography -- ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) is a new form of PKI Cryptography based on an elliptic curve, where you add two points on a curve to find a third point on the curve. When compared to older cryptosystems, ECC is more secure and offers smaller key sizes, resulting in much faster execution with less bandwidth and memory. This makes Elliptic Curve Cryptography a great solution for mobile devices, due to their power and CPU limitations.

  • EDI -- Electronic Data Interchange.  EDI is a highly-structured technique of conveying financial and business data between businesses via private data networks. These networks are known as Value-Added Networks or VANs.

  • Encryption -- The method of changing text that is readable to anyone into cipher or encrypted text into text that decipherable to only the author and the sanctioned receiver of the text.  Credit card transactions transmitted over the Internet very often make use of an encryption format such as secure socket layer, or SSL, in order to provide Internet security and online security.
