- Leased Line -- A rented telephone line used solely for a 7/24 to impart Internet connectivity or to link one computer or network to another. A leased line is also sometimes called a Dedicated Line.
- Link Checker -- A program that investigates the authenticity of both on-site and off-site hyperlinks in a web page and creates reports that catalog broken links.
- Link Rot -- A term which speaks to the inclination of hyperlinks in a website to grow to be broken down as the websites and web pages they link to are shifted and moved around or deleted over time.
- Listserv -- A minor program which redistributes, automatically, e-mail messages that it gets to names on a mailing list. Subscribing to the mailing list by sending an e-mail to an address for the listserv, users' names are then added, and they receive all future e-mail postings along with every other subscriber.
- Log -- An automatically created file that supplies information on files requested, date and time requested, and where requests began. Servers commonly generate numerous log files -- such as an access log, referrer log, and agent log -- all reporting different data.
