How to Link Your Microsoft Azure Key Vault to Your DigiCert CertCentral Account

Do you want to order your DigiCert SSL/TLS certificates from your Microsoft Azure Key Vault account?

Then, use these instructions to link your Azure Key Vault account to your DigiCert CertCentral® account so that you can begin ordering your SSL/TLS Certificates directly from Key Vault.

1. Set Up Your Microsoft Azure Key Vault Account

Do you have an Azure Key Vault account?

  • Yes – You're all set. Continue to step 2.

  • No – Then, you'll need get your Azure Key Vault account and set it up.

2. Activate Your DigiCert CertCentral Account

Do you have a CertCentral account?

  • Yes – You're all set. Continue to step 3.

  • No – Then, you'll need to get your CertCentral account and set it up.

3. Create an API Key

Inside your CertCentral account, you'll need to create an API key. You'll use this key to link your Azure Key Vault account to your CertCentral account.

4. Gather Additional CertCentral Information

Along with the API Key, you'll need two more items from your DigiCert CertCentral account:

  • Account ID
  • Organization ID

Both these items are included in the "CertCentral Signup - Azure - Account" email that DigiCert sends to you once we've activated your CertCentral account.

You can also access this information from inside your CertCentral account.

5. Enable the Account Credit Payment Method in Your CertCentral Account

Before you can begin ordering your DigiCert SSL/TLS certificates, you'll need to enable the account credit payment method in your CertCentral account.

Note: To order SSL/TLS certificates from your Azure Key Vault account, you must use account credit to pay for these certificates. The Azure Key Vault Module doesn't allow for credit cards as a payment method.

During this step, we recommend adding a credit card to your account. Having a credit card associated to your account helps you quickly and easily deposit funds for Key Vault certificate orders.

6. Order SSL/TLS Certificates from Your Microsoft Azure Key Vault Account

Before you order a DigiCert SSL/TLS certificate from your Key Vault account, make sure account credit is the default payment method for your CertCentral account.

Also, make sure you have this information handy:

  • CertCentral API key
  • CertCentral account ID
  • Organization ID

You'll need this information to run the PowerShell commands for ordering your DigiCert SSL/TLS Certificates.

7. Set Up Users in Your DigiCert CertCentral Account

Once you've activated your CertCentral account, you can verify and edit your profile and add users to your account.
