Position:
Sr. Accountant – Tokyo, Japan

Job Task Description:
Understand our international organization and related reporting requirements of the various entities within the APJ region, particularly for local GAAP and statutory reporting

Participate in the month-end close process (prepare entries, provide support, reporting)

Prepare monthly financial statement variance analysis and provide management with explanations for fluctuations in account balances vs. prior periods, budget and forecasts

Perform account reconciliations

Communicate with international teams and support the accounting and finance processes

Liaise with third-party service providers to facilitate efficient and accurate preparation of our month-end and statutory reporting

Facilitate requests from audit teams to ensure timely support to audit requests and inquiries

Perform ad-hoc projects, as requested

Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate in this role has the following education and experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

4+ years of relevant experience

Experience with month-end close and statutory reporting

Experience with NetSuite or a major ERP product

Professional certification a plus (CPA/CA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA or similar)

Audit experience preferred; exposure to multi-national companies

Key Competencies and Other Requirements:

Highly organized and great at tracking and meeting deadlines

Dedicated to high quality results and finding solutions

GAAP knowledge (US/IFRS/Local)

Excellent skill with Excel and other common computer applications

Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Proficient in English, highly preferred
