Our legacy partner platform shuts down in July 2020.

Just in case you missed the formal announcement email and blog post last month, our legacy partner portals and APIs will be shut down 31 July 2020.

What to know

Our legacy Encryption Everywhere, GeoTrust, RapidSSL, Symantec and Thawte partner platforms, including their portals and APIs, will meet their ends-of-life (EOL) at various dates through July 2020. Please read below for details.

  • Legacy partner portals
    On 31 July 2020, Symantec will stop hosting the legacy GeoTrust, RapidSSL, Symantec and Thawte portals and will simultaneously stop redirecting traffic from their URLs.
  • Legacy partner API
    Symantec may end its support of our legacy partner SOAP API as soon as 31 July 2020.
  • Encryption Everywhere API
    Encryption Everywhere (EE) utilizes our legacy EE REST API which will be EOL on 31 March 2020.

What to Do

To ensure continuity for your revenue stream and operations, we encourage you to migrate your usage of our legacy systems over to their continuing equivalents on our CertCentral Partner platform, which replaces our legacy partner platforms and already offers all our continuing brands and products.

If you need our assistance with planning or implementing your migration of any aspect below, contact your account manager to determine the necessary implementation resources.

  • Certificate migration
    All active certificates issued through the legacy portals and APIs will remain valid throughout their certificate validity periods until they expire or are revoked. Between now and your portal/API migration, we will populate all active TLS/SSL certificates into your CertCentral Partner account.

    If non-active certificate information or past order data is important to you, we recommend that you export your customer and certificate data from the legacy portal(s) before 30 June 2020. We do not expect to migrate any past orders nor inactive, expired or revoked certificate data into your CertCentral Partner account.

  • Partner portal migration
    We’re preparing your CertCentral Partner account now. We’ll contact you when it’s ready for you to activate and begin using it. If you suspect that the intricacy of your usage or implementation will require early testing access before the certificate and order data is populated, contact your account manager who can help determine the necessary implementation resources. Regardless of when you begin migrating, plan to complete your migration to it by 30 June 2020 if not sooner; doing so will afford you at least one month before the 31 July 2020 EOL date, thereby affording you with time to resolve any residual or last-minute migration matters. In your planning, we recommend that you identify your workflows where you use our legacy partner portals and prepare to update those to the CertCentral portal, too.
  • API migration
    The CertCentral API replaces all of our legacy partner APIs. It is active and already at functional parity now, including full support for Encryption Everywhere and its workflows. Please plan your implementation of the CertCentral API now, along with planning to conclude your usage of our legacy API. In your planning, we recommend that you estimate any development work to migrate from legacy APIs to the CertCentral API. Documentation for the new API is available here, with example workflows written specifically for partners to help you understand the structure and standard order placement process.
