What is the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE)?

The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE), established in 2012, is part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The NCCoE is a collaborative group where industry groups, government agencies, and academic institutions work together on pressing cybersecurity issues.

The NCCoA defines Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs) among its members to develop standards- and best-practices-based cybersecurity solutions using commercially available technology, which are then documented in the NIST Special Publication 1800 series.

The organization's goal is to bring together experts from industry, government, and academia to address the real-world needs of securing complex IT systems and protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure.
