How do subscriptions work?

DigiCert certificate subscriptions include a digital certificate, access to our certificate management portal, DigiCert CertCentral, customer support, and additional services like web server vulnerability scanning or cloud-based code signing key storage. Unlike a “one and done” certificate purchase, you don’t need to repurchase certificates if your needs change. Instead, you simply revoke the certificate associated with the subscription and re-issue it according to your new use case.

Are all subscriptions for one year?

Yes, all subscriptions are for one year and they automatically renew unless you cancel. This approach aligns with the lifespan of common certificates like TLS/SSL. It also makes products, like 3-year code signing certificates, easier to afford, because you can pay separately for each year, rather than all three years upfront.
