Mark Certificates

Put your mark on email marketing.

What are Verified Mark Certificates?

Verified Mark Certificates (VMCs) allow you to render your logo next to the “sender” field in email clients so that users see your mark—and that your organization has been authenticated—before they even open your message. It's the email equivalent of a checkmark on social media, with added validation and security requirements to help protect your customers and your brand against phishing and spoofing attacks.

How do VMCs work?

Logo-verified email is part of a groundbreaking initiative—in cooperation with Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) and email client providers— to promote a consistent, trusted and visually authenticatable email experience for both businesses and consumers. Here’s how it works:

Finally, IT and Marketing can agree on a priority.

VMC benefits for marketers

  1. Instead of default initials, customers see your logo—before they even open your email.
  2. Deliver a more authentic, recognizable and unified experience.
  3. Instantly associate trust with your email communications. And your logo.
  4. Stand out from the crowd and let customers know you’ve made their security a priority.
  5. Increase visibility, recall and engagement—including a 10% increase to engagement rates.

DMARC benefits for IT

  1. Demonstrate the highest level of email security practice through DMARC compliance.
  2. Make it harder for bad actors to target your customers with identity-focused attacks like spoofing and phishing.
  3. Get better visibility and control over the messages sent and received by your domain.
  4. Gain clear insight into the types and frequency of attacks targeting your domain.
  5. Ensure legitimate emails are delivered reliably, without anything slipping through the cracks.

What Can You Do Now?

1. Become DMARC compliant.

Check the current status of your domains. To qualify for a VMC, you must have a DMARC record with “p=quarantine” or “p=reject.” We recommend using the domain checking tool from our partner Valimail. If you need help setting up DMARC, here’s a helpful step-by-step guide.

2. Make sure your logo is trademarked.

Before we can issue a VMC, your logo must be registered with the appropriate trademark office for your region. It can be a lengthy process, so we recommend getting started as soon as possible. Learn more about trademarking your logo.

3. Ensure your logo is properly formatted.

VMC logos must be in the appropriate .svg format to display in your customers’ inboxes. Here’s what you’ll need.

4. Purchase a VMC

Buy one or more VMCs today for $1,499 MSRP - an introductory offer of $899. Have multiple logos or domains? Here’s how many VMCs you’ll need.
