Initially, DigiCert was founded out of frustration. Digital security shouldn’t be difficult. It should relieve worry, not cause it. And yet something as simple as buying a certificate was so often a painful, time-consuming and frustrating slog through technical jargon and phone-trees. We knew there had to be a better way. Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Amit Sinha is CEO of DigiCert. Prior to DigiCert, Dr. Sinha was President of Zscaler. During his 12-year tenure, Zscaler grew from a startup to a NASDAQ-100 company and established itself as a dominant leader in enterprise security. Dr. Sinha is an independent Board Member at Zscaler and at DataRobot, an AI cloud platform company, and an advisor to several startups.
Prior to Zscaler, Dr. Sinha served as CTO for Motorola’s Enterprise Networking and Communications business, delivering Wi-Fi solutions. He was the CTO of AirDefense, a market leader in the wireless security space, leading to its successful acquisition by Motorola in 2008. Prior to AirDefense, Dr. Sinha served as Co-Founder and Chief Technologist at Engim, a Wi-Fi semiconductor company.
Dr. Sinha earned his Masters and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, and his B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, where he graduated summa cum laude and was awarded the President of India Gold Medal. He has authored over 25 journal/conference papers, contributed to 3 books, and is the inventor of 39 U.S. patents granted or pending.
Chief Product Officer
Deepika Chauhan joined DigiCert in 2017. Chauhan leads a global team of customer-obsessed product managers and engineers, responsible for continued innovation on DigiCert ONE, the platform for digital trust. Chauhan oversees the overall product strategy to ensure that organizations from the largest enterprises to SMBs can provide comprehensive trust and security across all of their devices, users, servers, software and content.
Chauhan has a wealth of experience in product development, business strategy, marketing, sales and organizational transformation. Prior to DigiCert, Chauhan led Strategy and Business Operations for the Website Security Business Unit at Symantec. Before Symantec, she was at McKinsey & Company in Silicon Valley, working with a number of different area tech companies on some of their most strategic initiatives. Prior to McKinsey, she led product development as part of the mobile browser team at Nokia for several years.
Chauhan grew up in Delhi, India, where she obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering from University of Delhi prior to moving to the United States. Once in the United States, she completed her master’s in Computer Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. After a few years of experience in various tech firms (EMC and Nokia), she proceeded to get her MBA from Dartmouth.
Chief Financial Officer
David Morton joined DigiCert in November 2021. Morton is responsible for the financial strategy of DigiCert and leads the worldwide accounting, treasury, financial planning, tax, acquisition, and investor relations functions to pursue the company’s aggressive growth strategy.
Morton is a seasoned finance professional with over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, including global leadership roles. Most recently, Morton was the chief financial officer at Anaplan responsible for overseeing finance, accounting, legal, procurement, IT and facility operations. He previously served as the chief accounting officer at Tesla and spent over 20 years at Seagate Technology where he served as chief financial officer for three years.
Chief Revenue Officer
Christophe Bodin joined DigiCert in March 2022. As Chief Revenue Officer, he oversees global sales and marketing functions, where he is responsible for scaling teams for revenue growth and enhancing the company’s go-to-market strategies.
Bodin brings to DigiCert a successful track record, including at Anaplan, where he played a key role scaling revenues during and after the company’s highly successful 2018 IPO. Bodin has more than 25 years of experience in the software industry and is a proven leader of sales, marketing and customer success teams. He has held senior positions at Tradeshift, Anaplan, SBI Growth Advisory, IBM, Oracle and BEA Systems.
Chief Technology Officer
Jason Sabin joined DigiCert in February 2012, and before being promoted to Chief Technology Officer in April 2020, he held roles including VP of Research and Development, Chief Security Officer and Chief Information Officer. As CIO, he led his team toward best-in-class technology across DigiCert’s platforms and systems, and also spearheaded the move to SaaS and cloud services over on-prem instances.
Sabin is a proud, self-proclaimed nerd, who discovered programming in fifth grade. He has more than 20 years of engineering and R&D experience working in the identity and security industry, with roles prior to DigiCert at NetIQ, Novell, and Volera. He’s an accomplished speaker at security, IoT and technology conferences. He has twice been named a Utah Genius for top inventor, with more than 50 patents issued.
Chief Information Security Officer
Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Jeremy Rowley leads the company’s product development teams, driving innovation on the company’s certificate management platform as well as its delivery of leading solutions for protecting web servers, signing digital code and documents. Rowley also leads a team providing authentication, encryption and integrity solutions for the IoT, secure data exchange of medical records and other sensitive data, blockchain and post-quantum cryptography, among other emerging sectors.
Rowley also represents DigiCert’s interests within various industry standards bodies and has authored several industry standards now in use. As part of DigiCert’s vision to lead its industry toward better and more trusted practices, Rowley actively participates in groups such as the CA/Browser Forum, IETF, Mozilla Forum, NIST and ICANN. Rowley was a key participant in drafting the CA/Browser Forum’s EV Guidelines, Baseline Requirements, and Network Security Guidelines, and he continues to draft new policies and guidelines today.
Prior to joining DigiCert, Rowley worked as corporate counsel for another large Certificate Authority, helped build programs to achieve efficiencies within law firms, and served as a chief software architect for a global chemical software group. Rowley earned a JD from Brigham Young University as well as MS and BS of Science, Chemical Engineering at the same institution. Rowley is a member of the Utah Bar and currently serves as president of the Utah Bar Association’s Cyberlaw division.
Chief People Officer
Sinead Godkin has been with DigiCert since 2018, building a culture of engagement, feedback and development. Since March 2020, she has led DigiCert’s COVID response, prioritizing the health and safety of our people, while also supporting leaders with business continuity. Godkin developed DigiCert’s Learning and Development function, which implemented a program for DigiCert’ s future leaders. Prior to her time at DigiCert, Godkin worked for companies including Google, Veritas, and Symantec, where her experience included orchestrating strategic and complex transitions during post-acquisition periods and aggressive business turnarounds.
Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary
As Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary, Mike Johnson oversees all legal matters at DigiCert and partners closely with the rest of the executive team and board of directors. Before transitioning to an in-house advisor, Johnson was an attorney at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Kirkland & Ellis. Johnson joined DigiCert in June 2016 after serving as a product and commercial licensing attorney at Splunk Inc., bringing many years of experience advising on technology-related matters and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts. At DigiCert, Johnson’s duties include overseeing corporate governance, M&A, licensing, product support, and intellectual property matters.
Johnson has been admitted to the bar in California, New York and Utah, and holds a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a BA in Political Science from Brigham Young University.
EVP Customer Service
Jamie Elvidge has been a member of the DigiCert team since 2008. As Executive VP of Customer Service, Elvidge overseas Program Management, Technical Support and Validation Services. Duties include driving a culture of collaboration, overseeing global customer service and order processing operations, leading exec-sponsored cross-functional strategic projects, and helping coordinate M&A activities across all functions. Previously at DigiCert, Elvidge directed Technical Support, Validation, Enterprise Sales, and Emerging Markets. Additionally, Elvidge managed DigiCert’s Trusted Root Program and has lead several pre-acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration efforts.
Elvidge holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Utah State University Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, as well as a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management from Utah Valley University Woodbury School of Business.
EVP of Marketing
Mark Packham joined DigiCert in July 2016 and oversees brand strategy, lead gen, thought leadership, content strategy, public relations, digital marketing, and analyst relations. He brings over 20 years of experience as a strategic marketer and global brand manager, having led global marketing engagements with companies like Salesforce.com, Microsoft, Verizon, and Abbott. Packham adds a creative and varied skillset to DigiCert’s management team including marketing strategy, brand development, corporate messaging, and experience design.
Prior to joining DigiCert, Packham was a Partner and co-founder of Contravent, an experience design agency. He also spent nearly 15 years of his career leading client engagements for top-tier global ad agencies including Publicis and McCann WorldGroup. Packham holds a BA in Communications from Brigham Young University.
