The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide federation of standards bodies. ISO is a nongovernmental organization that comprises standards bodies from more than 160 countries, with one standards body representing each member country.
ASC X9 is an organization accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to develop and maintain voluntary consensus standards for the U.S. financial services industry. ASC X9 additionally represents the United States on three ISO technical committees.
