Get started with code signing - order a certificate today

Purchasing a code signing certificate is a simple process. Most of the time, you won't even need a CSR to complete the purchase order form online.

Order a code signing certificate

1. Open the Code Signing certificate order form:

   • Is this your first time ordering a certificate from DigiCert?
     Go to our DigiCert Order Form - Purchase Digital Certificates page and follow the instructions on this page.

   • Do you have a CertCentral account?
     Sign in to CertCentral and follow these instructions to Order a Code Signing certificate.

2. On the Step 1: Select a Product page do the following:

   1. In the Product section, make sure Code Signing Certificate is selected.

   2. In the Validity Period section, select the number of years (1, 2, or 3) for which you wish to purchase your code signing certificate.

   3. In the Platform section, in the drop-down list, select which platform you will be using your code-signing certificate with (e.g., Microsoft Office VBA).

      Note: If you select Sun Java as your platform type, you must submit a CSR for your order. You can do provide it now while ordering your certificate or later from your new DigiCert CertCentral account.

   4. At the bottom of the page, click Continue.

3. On the Step 2: Organization Information page, do the following:

   1. In the Organization Details section, enter your organization details for the certificate.

   2. In the Your Contact Details section, enter valid and verifiable contact information as a Certificate Requester. We may need to contact you to validate the order, as well as send you confirmation emails.

      Note: As a security measure, we will need to contact your HR, IT, Corporate, or Legal department head in order to verify the information that you enter during this step.

   3. In the Technical Contact Details section, if you don't want to use your contact details as the technical contact detail, uncheck Use my contact details as the technical contact and enter valid contact information for the technical contact.

   4. At the bottom of the page, click Continue.

4. On the Step 3: Payment Details page, enter your payment information, read through and check I agree to the Certificate Services Agreement above^*, and click Complete Order.

Validation Process

When you complete the order, it will be sent to our validation department for verification. The validation process can be completed in under an hour or two. Although, there can be issues that extend the process beyond what is standard, especially if we have difficulty verifying your identity (Certificate Requester).

Certificate Issuance

After the validation process is completed, DigiCert will send you (Certificate Requester) an email with certificate installation instructions.
