What is a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC)?

A Verified Mark Certificate allows you to display your verified logo in the sender field of email inboxes. It works in conjunction with Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) and confirms that your organization is DMARC compliant, which stands for Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance. DMARC protects emails from being spoofed or phished and builds upon the widely used SPF and DKIM protocols to protect against fraudulent emails. VMC certificates first became available for purchase in July 2021 after being piloted by Gmail in 2020. VMCs are expected to increase email engagement, brand recognition and provide a unified email experience for brands.
