How to Order a Code Signing Certificate

  1. If you are new to DigiCert, go to our DigiCert Order Form - Purchase Digital Certificates page.

    Note: If you already have an account, go ahead and login to your DigiCert account (click here to log in).

  2. On the Step 1: Select a Product page do the following:

    1. In the Product section, make sure Code Signing Certificate is selected.

    2. In the Validity Period section, select the number of years (1, 2, or 3) for which you wish to purchase your code signing certificate.

    3. In the Platform section, in the drop-down list, select which platform you will be using your code-signing certificate with (e.g., Microsoft Office VBA).

      Note: You are ONLY required to submit a CSR if you select Sun Java as your platform type. For all other platforms, the CSR will be created for you.

    4. At the bottom of the page, click Continue.

  3. On the Step 2: Organization Information page, do the following:

    1. In the Organization Details section, enter your organization details for the certificate.

      Note: If you are an existing customer, review this information and modify it, if needed, before you continue.

    2. In the Your Contact Details section, enter valid and verifiable contact information as a Certificate Requester. We may need to contact you to validate the order, as well as send you confirmation emails.

      Note: As a security measure, we will need to contact your HR, IT, Corporate, or Legal department head in order to verify the information that you enter during this step.

    3. In the Technical Contact Details section, if you don't want to use your contact details as the technical contact detail, uncheck Use my contact details as the technical contact and enter valid contact information for the technical contact.

    4. At the bottom of the page, click Continue.

  4. On the Step 3: Payment Details page, enter your payment information, read through and check I agree to the Certificate Services Agreement above*, and click Complete Order.

    Note: If you are a new customer, the only option available to you in the Payment Method section is Credit Card.

Validation Process

Once your order has been completed. it will be sent to our validation department for verification. The validation process is usually fairly straightforward and can be completed in under an hour or two, although there can be issues that would extend the process beyond what is standard, especially if we have difficulty verifying the identity of the Certificate Requester.

Certificate Issuance

Once the validation process is completed, an email will be sent to the Certificate Requester with instructions for installation.
